Eighteen years ago, our company, developerprogram.com, began as a consulting offering expertise for developer programs in the telecom space. As we gained the domain expertise required to rise above our competition, we recognized the need to develop a scalable solution for customers – a software platform that provided the robust features of a custom solution but reduced the time and cost to implement. Our software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering, dpEngine, became the first end-to-end ecosystem management solution for companies to manage their relationships with developers, partners, customers, and employees.

Now, more than just a SaaS provider, we are breaking ground on an entirely new category and approach to digital business ecosystem management – Ecosystem Management-as-a-Service (EMaaS). EMaaS provides the software infrastructure, domain expertise and analytics to create, manage and scale ecosystems faster. By leveraging EMaaS, companies can build industry-leading business ecosystems rapidly, focusing their internal resources on the critical task of managing ecosystem participant relationships.

Given our ground-breaking EMaaS offering, we needed a change in our brand identity to better encompass and articulate who we are and what we do. Our new name, Constellant, means to “constellate - form or cause to form into a cluster or group; gather together.” This name aligns well with our obsession of making connections within digital business ecosystems - taking disparate elements and bringing them together. Our EMaaS offering is designed to do just that - “constellate” developers, partners, customers and employees into digital business ecosystems – and our new name couldn’t be more fitting.

On the more informal side of things, Constellant is also a play on constellation: “a group of stars forming in a recognizable pattern.” For those of you who know our team well, you know just how fitting this secondary meaning is. The fact is that, as obsessed as we are with making connections, we are equally obsessed with all things space. We love the way our new name speaks to our company culture of strong “work, life balance” combining our dual passion for digital business ecosystem management and the vast wonders of space.
